To welcome more visitors during the holiday season, the Barnes Foundation has announced special extended hours of 10 am–8 pm from Tuesday, December 26, through Saturday, December 30. Collection tours will be offered each day at 10 am and 4:30 pm, and tours of the Kiefer Rodin exhibition will be offered at 1 pm.

Today the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (Québec City, Canada), the Barnes Foundation (Philadelphia, PA), the Dallas Museum of Art (Dallas, TX), and the Musée d’Orsay (Paris, France) announced the internationally touring exhibition dedicated to one of the revolutionary artists of the French Impressionist movement, Berthe Morisot (1841–1895).

To welcome more visitors around the Thanksgiving holiday, the Barnes Foundation has announced special extended hours of 10 am–8 pm on Friday, November 24, and Saturday, November 25. Collection tours will be offered each day at 10 am and 6 pm.

In celebration of its fifth anniversary in Philadelphia, the Barnes Foundation has launched a new collection website that enables visitors to explore thousands of works in the Barnes’s unparalleled collection based on aesthetics, and download high-resolution images of over 1,400 works in the public domain.

The Barnes Foundation has filed a petition in Montgomery County Orphans’ Court requesting the Court’s approval of a long-term educational affiliation agreement with Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) that builds on the Barnes’s commitment to advancing appreciation of horticultural science, ensures the long-term preservation of the Barnes’s campus in Lower Merion Township, including its gallery and arboretum, utilizes SJU’s educational resources, and is consistent with the Barnes’s Indenture of Trust

The Barnes Foundation has announced its musical programming for fall 2017, bringing into dialogue performers from around the world with the Barnes’s renowned collection. Inspired by Albert Barnes’s unconventional approach to arranging art, the Barnes Ensemblean innovative contemporary music collective—will make its debut performance on Sunday, October 8, as part of a nine-day festival featuring rehearsals, educational engagements, and collaborations across Philadelphia.

The Barnes Foundation kicks off its fifth anniversary in the heart of Philadelphia this October with a constellation of public programs and events that reflect the Barnes’s commitment to community engagement.

In the first collaboration of its kind between a city bike-share program and an arts institution, the Barnes Foundation and Indego will launch 20 bikes wrapped in paintings from the Barnes collection. The first ten wrapped bikes will be unveiled during a free launch party at the Barnes, Open House: #BIKETOBARNES, on Thursday, September 14, from 5–8 pm.

To mark the centennial of Auguste Rodin’s death on November 17, the Barnes Foundation will host the only US presentation of Kiefer Rodin, a major exhibition organized with the Musée Rodin in Paris.

The Barnes Foundation today announced that its Chief Curator Sylvie Patry will return to the Musée d’Orsay in Paris to become Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs and Collections.
