About the Event
It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes. Enjoy art activities, performances, and free access to the collection and Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.
Start the new year off with upbeat and inspiring performances by the Getting Better Everyday Step Team! Based in Mickalene Thomas’s hometown of Camden, New Jersey, this talented group of girls will get families up and moving. Be sure to stick around after each show for an interactive workshop on the art of step.
Registration opens Thursday, January 2, at 10am.

Join us for an interactive storytime with Leslie Hamilton—ages 2 and up.

Performances: GBE Step Team
Founded in 2023, the Getting Better Everyday Step Team shares inspiring stories about being bold, creative, and unapologetically oneself. The GBE team will motivate you to get up and move while leaving you speechless with their impressive choreography and compelling narratives. After the performances, stay for interactive workshops that explore the art of step and storytelling through dance.
