Senior Director of Major Gifts ($120,000–130,000)
The Senior Director of Major Gifts is responsible for the strategic execution and management of all aspects of fundraising with upper-level individual giving including the Major Gifts, Barnes Art Ball, and Circles Membership programs. The Senior Director of Major Gifts provides leadership for the individual giving fundraising staff in the Major Gifts and Circles teams and oversees two core volunteer committees, the Ambassadors Board and National Ambassadors Board. With the SVP, Deputy Director for Advancement, the Senior Director also participates in strategy, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship for the Second Century Campaign and planned giving. As a senior member of the development staff, this position also provides guidance and support for institution-wide strategic and Advancement initiatives through collaboration with other departments, knowledge and resource sharing, and staff supervision.
Facilities Manager ($82,000–90,000)
The Facilities Manager is a management level position on the Operations team reporting to the Senior Director of Operations. Responsibilities include the maintenance, improvement, daily care, and operation of the foundation’s buildings, structure, architecture, mechanical and electrical systems, and grounds along with management of the building loading dock services, cleaning, trash and recycling programs, building furnishings, event set ups, and administrative duties.
Senior Revenue Analyst ($80,000–90,000)
The Senior Revenue Analyst is responsible for institution-wide revenue management. The analyst supports the Advancement function to track revenue completeness, financial reporting and administration of grants, and restriction tracking.
Deputy Director for Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer ($200,000–220,000)
The Deputy Director for Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer is a key member of the leadership team at the Barnes and serves as a trusted advisor and business partner to all levels of staff within the institution. The Deputy Director for Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources department and the development and implementation of human resources and diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) strategies, systems and policies, plans and services, including recruitment, orientation, training, benefits management, succession planning, compensation, employee relations, DEIA, compliance with state and federal labor laws, employment practices and procedures, conflict resolution and incident documentation, etc. This role provides leadership and coaching needed to enhance the skills and abilities of all leaders to work cohesively and to align HR and DEIA strategies and practices with the institution’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. The Deputy Director for Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer will provide strategic HR and DEIA leadership in coordination with the executive management team.
Director of Development Services ($95,000–105,000)
The Director of Development Services collaborates with the Deputy Director for Advancement and development leadership staff in the overall planning, integration, and oversight and the administration of development information and related systems of institutional donor and constituent-related communications and stewardship programs. The Director of Development Services is an advancement resource for all foundation business units and serves as a fundraising advocate for the organization with both internal and external constituents.
Accounts Payable Coordinator ($27/hr)
The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the accounts payable function for all Barnes departments. The coordinator reviews, codes, and processes all requests for payments and supports other Finance Department activities.
Senior Director of Programs, Calder Gardens ($110,000–125,000)
The Senior Director of Programs will be responsible for bringing to life the novel and progressive vision of Calder Gardens, a new institution opening on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in fall 2025 that will unite the art of Alexander Calder with nature and architecture to create an oasis that invites introspection and nurtures human connection.
The Senior Director of Programs will curate and implement a robust program of nontraditional performances, events, and contemplative activities that connect Calder’s legacy with the art and culture of the 21st century in creative and expansive ways. The director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing a wide range of time-based art, education, and wellness programs designed to introduce and amplify the unique Calder Gardens experience to new and diverse audiences.
Calder Gardens will be operated by the Barnes Foundation. The Senior Director of Programs will be the senior staff member on-site at Calder Gardens as well as a member of the Barnes’s senior management team. Reporting to the Neubauer Family Executive Director and President of the Barnes and working in close collaboration with the Calder Foundation, the Senior Director of Programs will serve as the primary liaison for external communications and point of contact for exhibitions, education, community engagement, advancement, marketing, editorial, event management, retail operations, and guest and protection services teams.
Guest and Protection Services Associate ($17.60/hr)
Guest and Protection Services Associates provide a best-in-class experience to every person who visits our institution. As the first line of interaction between the Barnes Foundation and all guests, the Guest and Protection Services (GPS) Associate sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience, making the “customer centered” concept a daily reality in all interactions, decisions, and exchanges with guests. GPS Associates make the “customer centered” concept a daily reality in all interactions, decisions, and exchanges with guests. GPS Associates are part of a team that is truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the direction of the Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful, and efficient. This includes answering questions, enforcing rules, looking out for suspicious behavior, providing assistance, and engaging guests with warm and welcoming conversations about the foundation and its collections.
Internships
We offer summer internships in a variety of departments for undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent high school and college graduates. Our interns work with experts in their fields, gain valuable job experience, and engage in meaningful work. Learn more about each department.

All internships at the Barnes are paid. Undergraduate students receive $12.75 per hour. Graduate students receive $15.75 per hour.
The summer internship program runs from the first week in June through the second week of August. Interns work 2–3 days per week and are required to work on Fridays, when all interns participate in mandatory enrichment activities.

Volunteering at the Barnes provides unique access to our collections, programs, and staff, as well as opportunities to work with other art and horticulture enthusiasts. We are not accepting volunteer applications at this time.
