About Barnes North
Barnes North works with community-based organizations and social impact artists to activate North Philadelphia neighborhoods with free programming centered on joy and wellness. This new initiative builds on the success of Barnes West, our creative placemaking program serving West Philadelphia since 2018. Celebrating North Philly’s vibrant neighborhoods and unique voices, Barnes North works alongside artists, residents, businesses, and agencies that are deeply invested in uplifting their own communities.

2026 Everyday Places Artist Partnerships Launch Party
Celebrate this year’s cohort of artists and community organizers! Meet with local social-impact artists and learn more about the creative projects they’re bringing to North Philly neighborhoods this summer and fall. Plus, enjoy light bites and drinks, move and groove to live music, and explore Brewerytown Garden! Check back soon for information on 2026 artists, places, and projects.

In 2025, our first group of Barnes North Everyday Places artists brought engaging projects to the community:
Chela Ixcopal
Chela Ixcopal (he/they) led a cooking and printing series in partnership Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden.
E. Morales-Williams
E. Morales-Williams (they/them) led a movement-based workshop to promote intergenerational connections in partnership with Norris Square Neighborhood Project.
Alyssa Reynoso-Morris
Alyssa Reynoso-Morris (she/her) led workshops centered on environmental justice and literacy in partnership with the North Philadelphia Peace Park.
