The Barnes Art Ball is the Foundation’s annual friend- and fundraiser, bringing together generations of artists, philanthropists, collectors, and connectors for an art-filled celebration of creativity.

The 2022 Barnes Art Ball marks the Barnes Foundation’s centennial and tenth anniversary on the Parkway in Philadelphia. Join us for an evening of artistic encounters that surprise and delight, revel in dynamic performances that inspire, and explore the Barnes’s legendary collection and a special exhibition of paintings by Amedeo Modigliani.

Funds raised from the Barnes Art Ball ensure the future of the Barnes’s exhibition program and community, education, and scholarly projects undertaken by the institution.

Modigliani Up Close

Modigliani Up Close, on view in the Roberts Gallery from October 16, 2022, to January 29, 2023, is the culmination of a multiyear, international collaboration between conservators and curators led by the Barnes Foundation and Tate Modern, London. Presenting new discoveries about the celebrated artist, this exhibition offers an unprecedented look into Amedeo Modigliani’s working practice and materials. The exhibition serves as the inspiration for a wide array of scholarly and community programs, including the Art Ball—all opportunities for engagement with local, national, and international audiences.
