About the Event

Enjoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer.

Tonight’s event features performances by Yolanda Wisher & The Afroeaters, a powerful band fronted by the 2016 poet laureate of Philadelphia. The Afroeaters weave Wisher’s enchanting poetry with sultry jazz, blues, and soul to create a distinct sound and groove. Their debut album, Doublehanded Suite, brings attention to Black writers whose work has been lost or misunderstood.

First Friday at the Barnes includes access to the collection and special exhibition Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.

Live music sets: 6:30 & 7:45pm

Seating is limited. Cocktails and light fare are available for purchase.

In the mood for something heartier? The Garden Restaurant is open for dinner during First Friday. Make a reservation for Friday, December 6, between 6 and 8pm.
