About the Event
Join us for special performances by Philly-based singer-songwriter, artist, and producer Kayla Childs, also known as Black Buttafly. With roots in gospel, jazz, and soul, Childs has played, studied, and recorded with artists and producers such as Lauryn Hill, Pete Rock, Lenny White, KeiyaA, RES, and Hannibal Buress.
A member of Omar’s Hat, UPENDO, and Nu School Collective, Childs released her long-awaited debut EP, Fly Free, this fall along with the lead single “Everybody Needs Love.” Don’t miss your chance to experience this inspiring artist looking to impact the world through her soulful sounds.
First Friday includes access to the collection and special exhibition Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.
