About the Tour

Members are invited to attend this exclusive online tour exploring impressionism at the Barnes. Today, impressionist paintings are some of the best known and best loved in the collection. But because of their charm and age, we often forget that impressionism was once avant-garde. It takes a leap of the imagination to realize how radical the movement was in its day, but impressionism, with its relaxed style, thicker paint, and brighter palette, revolutionized how people think about art. Learn more about Monet, Degas, Renoir, Pissarro, and other rebels who were pivotal to this first movement of modern art.

Registrants will be emailed a link for the talk the day prior.
