Celebrate the musical heritage of Puerto Rico with Los Bomberos de la Calle. This dynamic Philly-based group has been blending traditional and contemporary styles of bomba and plena music for the past 13 years. Led by founder and director Anthony Mendez, they have shared their soulful music at venues like the Mann Center and Kimmel Center, as well as local events such as the Hispanic Heritage Festival, Mummers Parade, and Feria del Barrio Festival. Their mission to preserve Puerto Rican traditions continues at the Philly Bomba Plena Cultural Center, where they raise funds and offer community programming.
