About the Event

It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes.

The Barnes is in full bloom this March as we anticipate the vibrant spirit of spring. Enjoy engaging art activities, storytime sessions, access to the collection, and special performances of “Mexican Spring” by Ñuuxakun, a Philly-based dance group that honors Mexican folklore and traditions.

Registration opens Thursday, February 27, at 10am.

Art Activities

Join us for fun art activities and explore our collection through our scavenger hunt challenge to claim your prize! Perfect for the whole family—ages 2 and up.

Storytime

Alyssa Reynoso-Morris leads interactive storytime sessions. Alyssa is an experienced multicultural and bilingual author, speaker, and storyteller. Catch a live reading of her critically acclaimed books today! Ages 2 and up.

Performances: Ñuuxakun

We’re thrilled to present “Mexican Spring” by folkloric dance group Ñuuxakun. These energetic and colorful performances celebrate traditions from all across Mexico as well as the coming spring equinox. Learn more about the cultural significance of dance with performer and educator Andrea Garcia, who is sure to get the whole family up and moving!
