#SeeArtDifferently

Free; capacity is limited, and registration is required.

About the Event

Join us at the Barnes for a town hall by For Freedoms, an artist-led organization that centers art as a catalyst for creative civic engagement, discourse, and direct action. Presented in partnership with the Barnes, Where Do We Go from Here? highlights the creative act of designing democracy, inspired by a central premise of For Freedoms that art asks questions that can challenge and shape systems of power.

The conversation will be led by a panel of artists. Guests are invited to ask questions about the idea and contemporary state of democracy and engage in discussions about what is needed to reimagine democracy today. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a transformative conversation!

About For Freedoms

This town hall is a part of a series that For Freedoms is organizing across the nation in honor of its new publication, For Freedoms: Where Do We Go from Here? The programs feature authors and artists from the book, along with local partners and collaborators.

Founded in 2016 by a coalition of artists including Hank Willis Thomas, Eric Gottesman, Michelle Woo, and Wyatt Gallery, For Freedoms is dedicated to fostering an environment of listening, healing, and justice through a wide range of creative engagement. For Freedoms works closely with a variety of artists, organizations, institutions, and brands to expand what participation in a democracy looks like and reshape conversations about politics.
